Convictions

To offer employees a beautiful and natural setting in which to flourish in the service of customers

André QUENOT created CML – for Consortium de Matériel pour Laboratoires – in October 1971, in Sevran (93). At that time, this company offered consumables and small equipment to medical biology laboratories. In June 1980, CML’s head office moved to Nemours (77), 80 km south of Paris, on the edge of the A6 motorway, with a 4,500 m2 logistics platform. This was already a strategic choice to serve the multitude of medical analysis laboratories operating in France – the proximity of road junctions was a guarantee of logistical performance – and a choice made with conviction to offer a pleasant working and living environment, oriented towards nature, to employees and their families.

In April 1982, André Quenot inaugurated our industrial site in Angers, CEB – for Centre Européen de Biotechnologies – whose know-how in the manufacture of plastic DM-DIVs and glass Pasteur pipettes is unanimously recognised on the market. Over the next thirty years, the company, still independent and family-owned, grew at the demanding pace of a market that was becoming increasingly concentrated and complex. A fire destroys the entire head office and warehouses in October 2010. In a few moments, forty years of the company’s history were swallowed by the flames. This event, which had a strong local impact, did not dampen the ambitions of the teams and their manager.

In January, a new, modern logistics centre, perfectly equipped to receive dangerous products and to efficiently manage the logistical constraints of public and private laboratories, was built in Pannes (45). The organisation’s regional roots are confirmed and expanded; a new wave of acquisitions and growth takes CML to new heights. In November 2012, CML acquired its colleague Elvetec, then bioleader®, the reference brand of sampling chairs, appreciated by all laboratories, which are looking for comfort for their patients as well as elegant durability for their rooms.

THE INAUGURATION OF A METROLOGY LABORATORY AT LABELIANS HEADQUARTERS TO INNOVATE TOGETHER 2021 marks the fiftieth anniversary of LABELIANS, but above all it marks the beginning of a new phase in its development.

At the heart of the partnership chain in diagnostics and industrial research – pharmaceutical, cosmetic, food -, or academic, our credo is to accompany our partners in an analysis process with perfectly reliable and repeatable results.

Metrology is at the heart of this promise, which is why we are inaugurating a metrology laboratory installed in a very contemporary architectural turret at the LABELIANS headquarters, which will house our metrologists, co-development projects with our partners, the quality/metrology training courses that we provide, and all the services that support laboratories in their requirements, over and above the equipment and consumables that we supply to them.

INAUGURATION OF A METROLOGY LABORATORY AT THE LABELIANS HEADQUARTERS It took less than five years for the company to literally rise from the ashes, a rebirth crowned by the inauguration of the new head office, located at the same address as the previous one, and driven by the same ambition: to offer employees a beautiful and natural setting in which to flourish in the service of customers. From 2017, the CML-ID group will serve the market under the brand name LABELIANS, the new unique name of its commercial subsidiary and its own brand, a promising compromise of words evocative of the company’s vocation: ”Label” for the remarkable quality of the offer, ”lab” for the laboratories to which each collaborator is called to turn his or her attention, ”alliance” for the chain of partners at the service of the common good of health which presides over the collaborations deployed, and also an impetus for the new era which is about to begin. These five decades of constant progress, of resilience anchored in a territory and a conviction, make LABELIANS today an undisputed leader in medical biology laboratories, whose ambitions are to:

  • Serve them always better in France and across the world;
  • to enable industrial, academic or research laboratories to benefit from the expertise and sense of proximity that has attracted medical laboratories.
